These terms apply to patentmechanics.com and to the Patent Mechanics app, API and MCP server (the “service”), provided by PatentMechanics LLC. By using the service you agree to them.

Service changes

Features may change and usage limits apply. Free trials last 7 days and require a work email. We may suspend or end trial access at any time.

Not legal advice

The service is a research tool. It does not provide legal advice or legal opinions, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship. Search results, claim charts, risk ratings and status estimates can be incomplete or wrong. Verify results against the source documents and consult a registered patent practitioner before relying on them.

Your account

Sign-in codes, invitation links and API keys are personal. Keep them confidential and do not share them. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Acceptable use

• Do not attempt to bulk-download, resell or redistribute the index or the service's output as a competing dataset.
• Do not probe, overload or attempt to bypass the service's security or usage limits.
• Do not submit information you do not have the right to share.

Your content

You keep all rights to the questions and documents you submit. You give us permission to process them only to provide the service. We do not use them to train machine-learning models. See the privacy policy.

Patent data

Patent documents and related records come from public sources, principally national and regional patent offices. Legal status and expiry dates are estimates.

Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, PatentMechanics LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions made on the basis of the service's output.
